Manteca District Ambulance (MDA) was founded in 1951 to provide ambulance service to the Manteca community. More than 75 years later, MDA remains one of the few nonprofit ambulance providers in California and continues its longstanding mission of providing high-quality, compassionate emergency medical services to the communities it serves.

Today, MDA provides 24-hour emergency ambulance service to Manteca and Lathrop. MDA operates a fleet of advanced life support ambulances and specialized response vehicles staffed by dedicated EMTs, paramedics, and EMS professionals.

MDA’s commitment extends beyond traditional ambulance transportation. Through community partnerships, emergency preparedness, public education, standby medical coverage, and its Special Operations Team, MDA works closely with local, state, and federal public safety, emergency management, healthcare, and governmental partners to support the communities it serves and provide assistance when needed beyond its normal service area.

For more than seven decades, MDA has built its reputation on dependable response times, clinical excellence, compassionate patient care, and a willingness to work with patients who may not have the ability to pay. As a nonprofit organization, our focus remains where it has been since 1951on our patients and our community.
